L’intreccio è apodittico: più o meno ogni sera sta davanti agli occhi di tutti. Per dirla pane al pane: politica e televisione camminano di pari passo. E’ un rapporto biunivoco, interessato, furbetto, perfettamente bilanciato: la politica si serve del medium televisivo per comunicare, la televisione si serve della politica (meglio: del suo surrogato) per fare intrattenimento.
Il format che decreta la liason risponde a un termine anglofono (tanto per cambiare), si chiama talk show, vi suona familiare, no? Dibattiti condotti dai soliti noti coi soliti opinionisti del pantheon politico (e/o giornalistico e/o intellettuale) in studio.
Si dibatte su reiterati temi del giorno: ore e ore di blaterare in favore di telecamere che dal proto-pedagogismo di “Tribuna elettorale” (1960) degenera, con gli anni, nel vociare vip dei salotti di Costanzo (“Bontà loro”, “L’altra campana”), nelle piazze populiste di Funari e in quelle iper-politicizzate di Santoro (“Samarcanda” et similia), di “Milano Italia” (Gad Lerner), fino all’insulso fatto talk show di Vespa (“Porta a porta”) e Giletti (“L’Arena”). Edoardo Novelli definisce il fenomeno democrazia del talk show, nel saggio “La democrazia del talk show” (Carocci, 2016) dal sottotitolo già indicativo delle ricadute sociali dell’inciucio: Storia di un genere che ha cambiato la televisione, la politica, l’Italia. Come dire Bingo, la frittata è fatta e, a mio modesto avviso, è di genere alienante, vagamente orwelliano. L’analisi di Novelli è altrettanto severa ma sostanziata dall’aplomb e il rigore che si deve all’accademia.
Lo ribadisco: la tv (la società dello spettacolo) ha tracimato, il “sistema talk show” si perpetra ormai senza soluzione di continuità, ha inquinato delle sue logiche (le sue semplificazioni, i suoi linguaggi) l’intero ambito pubblico. Attenzione a prenderla sottogamba: la pervasività della pseudo comunicazione politico-mediatica comporta conseguenze visibili e invisibili per la sopravvivenza (quanto meno per una sopravvivenza “seria”) della democrazia rappresentativa. Edoardo Novelli incrocia un gran numero di statistiche e dati quantitativi, riepilogando genesi, sviluppo e apoteosi di un genere che - come non ne avesse già di suo - ha ibridato la Repubblica e quel che resta degli italiani, convogliandone pensiero e azione in direzione inquietante, cronemberghiani (“Videodrome”): lunga vita alla nuova carne catodica. Lunga vita agli officianti del Verbo Lisergico quotidiano (parlare di tutto per non parlare di niente). Il popolo è bue per antonomasia e, per lo più, se le beve. “La democrazia dei talk show” smonta il giocattolo in forma di saggio serio e ragionato: dentro e fuori le righe racconta lo stato delle cose come nessun talk show ha fatto e farà mai. Non fosse che per questo motivo, è una lettura necessaria, da consigliare con convinzione.
