Gianni Antonio Palumbo, pugliese, nato nel 1978, docente e scrittore dopo aver pubblicato sillogi e saggi, si dedica a un giallo dal titolo enigmatico, chiara citazione a una frase di Robespierre durante il suo atto di accusa a Luigi Capeto. Per Luigi non odio né amore (Scatole Parlanti, 2020) è un giallo atipico ambientato nel 1978, un anno chiave nella storia italiana, dove la Storia con la maiuscola si fonde e si confonde con quella minore della gente comune.
Mattia Landi, giovane docente della Accademia Amaranta è misteriosamente scomparso.
Chi si dedica alla sua ricerca ripercorre le situazioni che hanno portato Landi all’Accademia. I fatti partono paradossalmente da quel 16 marzo che vide il rapimento di Aldo Moro e la morte degli uomini della sua scorta.
Il romanzo si intreccia a personaggi paralleli e, oltre a curare l’intreccio del giallo, varia di registro linguistico passando da una lingua aulica a una più del popolo, passando per il latino, il dialetto e anche lingue straniere prevalentemente il romeno.
Ogni parola e ogni registro si adattano ai parlanti e servono per far capire al lettore la personalità e l’identità di ciascun personaggio.
Non è manicheista il libro di Palumbo, perché di primo acchito non si comprende chi abbia la ragione e chi il torto, malgrado nelle prime pagine si è spinti ad avere una legittima simpatia per lo scomparso Mattia.
Solo un’attenta lettura aiuta a risolvere l’intricata faccenda come in ogni buon giallo che si rispetti.
Le differenze con il giallo canonico sono lo stile decisamente elevato e l’aria dotta che si respira.
Una storia da leggere e rileggere, adatta a lettori forti, ma anche a chi vuole dedicare il suo tempo a un libro intelligente.
