Non sono luoghi comuni. Potrebbero sembrarlo ma non lo sono. Non se riferiti a un cantautore ossimorico e sbilenco (segnatamente, irrimediabilmente, felicemente sbilenco) come Enzo Jannacci sul quale è possibile scrivere tutto e il contrario di tutto e prenderci comunque. Contro-tendente, “inidoneo” (di certo per i primi provini RAI), matto-lucido, umanista, surreale, “cantante con gli occhiali”, chirurgo, attore, acchiappanuvole, milanista, autore incommensurabile di Vincenzina e la fabbrica, jazzista preparato e sopravvivente a orecchio, chissà quante altre cose sparse tra il cielo degli stralunati e la terra dei poveri cristi di Milano. È certo il fatto che in quarant’anni e spiccioli di carriera (?) Jannacci ha attraversato generi e linguaggi artistici con nonchalance: rock, jazz, cabaret, cinema, canzone d’autore. I suoi primi pezzi – scritti, fra gli altri, con Giorgio Gaber (Benzina e cerini; Il cane e la stella; Zitto prego) e Dario Fo (Ho visto un re; L’Armando; El portava i scarp de tennis; Il primo furto non si scorda mai; Veronica) ne rivelano lo sguardo strabico - ironia e denuncia sociale -, le sue apparizioni al “Derby” di Milano, la paternità dei “caratteri” emblema di una sub-umanità marginale e grottesca (Faceva il palo; Giovanni telegrafista).
Potrei tirarla ancora per le lunghe su Jannacci ma a questo punto avrei da raccomandarvi la bella biografia che gli dedica Nando Mainardi, “L’importante è esagerare” (Vololibero, 2017), seguendolo passo-passo, disco per disco, dall’inizio alla fine, dalla Milano agra al Tempo scaduto. Diverse le testimonianze, le interviste, gli stralci di giornali arruolati a supporto, a cominciare dall’estesa prefazione di Ezio Gentile che Jannacci l’ha visto da vicino e ne scrive in questo modo:
“Vedere un artista fuori dal suo contesto classico e consolidato di personaggio pubblico, poterci essere fianco a fianco, avere l’opportunità di sintonizzarsi su frequenze ed elementi diversi da quelli tradizionali impostati da comunicati stampa e dalle gabbie della comunicazione, resta tutto sommato un privilegio che con Jannacci so di aver potuto godere nella pienezza migliore (…) Jannacci, ai miei occhi, è stato un unicum, anche in questo, una preziosa rarità”.
Titolo e contenuti di questo biopic non apologetico, ne rafforzano la caratura singolare, di persona esagerata, fuori le righe, dialettica, capace di avocare a se (attraverso le sue canzoni) farsa e tragedia, leggerezza e disperazione più nera. La scrittura di Nando Mainardi, dal canto suo, risulta distesa e puntuale quanto basta per fare di “L’importante è esagerare” un punto di riferimento della pubblicistica jannacciana. Da regalarsi e regalare a chi ha orecchie ancora buone per intendere, e testa capace di leggere tra le pieghe delle canzoni.
