È un libro al femminile il saggio di Gino Carbonaro che si intitola “Donna. Una storia senza eco: misoginia, violenza, follia” (Centro Studi Feliciano Rossitto, Ragusa, 2018), impreziosito di eleganti immagini in bianco e nero. Già risulta chiaro che l’autore si muove lungo il tracciato di un’ampia e documentata ricerca sulla violenza subita dalle donne nel corso dei secoli.
L’esposizione è sgombra di ogni pesante erudizione; si distingue per una tersa vivacità affabulatoria e per la leggerezza di una scrittura che si manifesta in tanti medaglioni che offrono una visione dettagliata sull’argomento.
È l’autore stesso nell’introduzione a motivare la scelta della tematica: ad animarla è un intento pedagogico orientato alla costruzione di una mente critica scevra da pregiudizi che a tutt’oggi permangono. L’idea da cui muove è la concezione negativa della donna presente nel Vecchio Testamento e nel mondo greco, consolidatasi poi con l’interpretazione paolina che, per lungo tempo, è stata condivisa dalla Chiesa cattolica: “la donna è fonte di male da perseguire”. Lineare è la struttura del saggio comprendente due parti che offrono preziose occasioni di riflessioni:
La prima analizza affermazioni sulla donna nel mondo greco e all’interno dei testi sacri Vecchio e Nuovo Testamento, Padri fondatori della Chiesa cattolica, e il ruolo della Santa Inquisizione nel perseguire soprattutto la donna; la seconda parte comprende una biografia su Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179), monaca tedesca vissuta nel XII sec., interessante per la visione fresca che una donna dà della donna e della religione. Il libro chiude con le considerazioni di chi scrive.
Le selezioni, si sa, sono pur sempre parziali (ci sarebbe piaciuto incontrare la figura di Antigone che osò ribellarsi a leggi non condivise dalle ragioni del sentimento), ma quelle effettuate sono ricondotte ad una ben precisa matrice: si rifanno al momento in cui Eva assaggia e porge il frutto ritenuto del peccato. Lo sguardo si posa sui passi concernenti la donna-oggetto e non trascura di soffermarsi su quei brani del Corano relativi alla soffocante autorità esercitata sull’universo femminile usato ed abusato. Se la donna reprime e contiene, l’uomo esprime e sfoga. Poiché la trasgressione del comando divino non è gnosticamente considerata come ricerca di alternative possibili, reca una disgrazia irrimediabile che si è concretizzata in una biografia della persecuzione nonostante il nuovo rapporto instaurato da Gesù con la donna.
Il perdono e l’amore con il messaggio vangelico si sostituiscono all’odio e alla maledizione, voci che però tornano con Paolo di Tarso fino a diventare operative con il martirio di Ipazia. Alle pagine sulle streghe fanno da contrappunto, in pieno Medioevo, quelle dedicate alla monaca Hildgard von Bingen:
Figura potente e personalità poliedrica, per la pluralità dei suoi talenti e per le aree culturali esplorate.
L’analisi la presenta inquieta e afflitta da insolubili interrogativi sulla condizione esistenziale fino all’approdo nella visione di un’armonia universale: quella dell’ “anima mundi”, "viriditas circondata dall’amplesso dei divini misteri, che pitagoricamente e in modo sinestetico si esprime nella musica: si tratta dell’interconnessione esistente fra tutte le cose, siano esse elementi, piante, animali, venti, pianeti. Tutto è in interazione dinamica e tutto trova la sua corrispondenza nell’essere umano. Figura dunque assolutamente originale, Hildegard von Bingen con le sue intuizioni anticipatrici del neoplatonismo umanistico-rinascimentale e portatrice dell’orgoglio di donna come "energia suprema e fiammeggiante". La sua fine intelligenza e l’esperienza mistico-profetica le consentirono infatti la possibilità di parola e di azione in un’epoca in cui il ruolo femminile non era certamente valutato positivamente; la ricchezza delle sue opere fecero di lei la “Sibilla del Reno”: un’esperta in teologia, scienza, medicina, cosmologia, filosofia. Gino Carbonaro ne rivisita gli scritti e puntualizza il valore attribuito al rapporto sessuale, sottratto ad ogni tabù. I passi scelti sulla “gioia-e-delizia dei sensi”, nell’alveo di un rinnovato Cristianesimo che idealmente si riannoda alla bellezza amorosa del “Cantico dei cantici”, dimostrano un fatto innegabile:
Questa donna è stata capace di leggere la realtà in modo nuovo, senza soggiacere a pregiudizi mutuati da quanto avevano mutuato i Padri (fondatori) di Santa Madre Chiesa, e da quanto imponevano le autorità ecclesiastiche.
L’epilogo fa infine apparire la realtà come dovrebbe essere, suggerisce un’opera di purificazione del Vecchio Testamento a cominciare dal libro del Siracide e invita, al di fuori di ogni alibi, a rivedere la storia di ambigui personaggi, quale Cirillo di Alessandria d’Egitto, oggi santificato. Il saggio, in sostanza, mantenendosi distante da ogni edonismo incontrollato e destrutturando il mito di Eva origine di crudeli e terrificanti inquisizioni, oltre a valorizzare con anima libertaria la dimensione della corporeità, specificamente considera la liberazione della donna come conquista della diversità nel contesto della pluralità dei mondi di bruniana memoria. Quel che Carbonaro dice vale perfettamente a ripensare la cultura dell’integrazione del maschile con il femminile per un’ecologia della mente tra veglia illuministica ed empatia oltre ogni banale credulità.
